2020 was a difficult year for many sectors of the economy, and the construction sector is no exception. The introduction of restrictive measures froze construction processes, and in some regions decisions were made to stop the work of construction sites. Also a problem was the disruption of logistical processes for the delivery of construction materials and the shortage of workers due to the pandemic. However, this has a silver lining - the new circumstances have changed the way people think about their surroundings, including both apartments and offices as well as public spaces.

A total of 32 BREEAM, BREEAM In-Use and LEED certificates were received by Russian projects in 2020, of which 11 properties were certified by the ESG factor team, representing 60% of the total number of certified areas over this period.

In connection with this, many developers are showing increased interest in both the certification of facilities under the traditional "green" standards - BREEAM and LEED, and the emerging standards of "healthy" buildings - WELL and Fitwel.
There is also growing investor interest in the comprehensive assessment of the GRESB real estate portfolio.

Continuing to comply with the corporate standard of certification of all objects under BREEAM, HYPERGLOBUS has received a certificate of Excellent level for Globus Kommunarka hypermarket. At the moment this rating is the highest among the certified objects of the company in Russia. Also this year the same level certificate is expected for Globus logistics center in Pushkino near Moscow.
Also last year the BREEAM In-Use 2015 certification of MEGA shopping centers (INGKA Group) all over Russia was completed - the last MEGA facility in Nizhny Novgorod received the certificate in January this year.
A total of 14 shopping centers were certified with a Very Good rating, with the exception of MEGA Kazan and MEGA Omsk - these centers received a higher rating of Excellent for the innovative solutions implemented.
For example, for the MEGA shopping center in Omsk 20 solar collectors of high capacity were installed, which will be used to heat water for the shopping center. This method of heating is safe for nature, as the energy for heating water does not require the burning of coal or fuel.

The offices of Johnson & Johnson in BC Krylatskie Holmy and the office of an international fashion company have received the LEED certificate this year - both were given a high Silver rating.
