    What is it?
    Energy modeling takes into account all connections between energy consumers in the building, as well as current operating conditions.

    During modeling, such groups of factors as: meteorological data (that is, energy modeling can be performed for buildings located both in the north and south), the geometry of the building and its surroundings, the mode of operation of engineering systems and models of engineering systems and equipment are taken into account.

    As part of the energy-modeling process, architectural and planning solutions are tested for natural light (Daylight modeling) and thermal comfort testing.

    For energy modeling, special software is used, which allows you to lay down the parameters of the energy model according to a certain algorithm.

    The ESG Factor team includes qualified engineers with extensive experience in energy-modeling for residential, commercial and industrial real estate using the licensed software. We use Energy Plus and Design Builder software, as well as conduct energy modeling in accordance with the international standard ASHRAE.

    What are the benefits of energy modeling for the Client (developer, builder, owner, tenant)?
    The 3D energy model of the building allows:

    • to determine as correctly as possible the future loads on the heating and cooling systems in time and space;

    • develop any number of basic solutions for HVAC systems, control sensors (CO2, lighting, etc.), predict the annual cost of operating the building (electricity, gas, hot water) for each solution;

    • Analyze the parameters of the air environment in the premises throughout the year during the operation of the systems laid down in the design solution.

    And most importantly, the final version of the design solution is formulated based on the data of energy modeling gained. Contrary to popular opinion, the choice of an energy-efficient solution does not always mean an increase in capital costs. But even in this case, the methodology allows you to estimate the payback period, after which it is possible to make a reasoned verdict on the expediency of application of the solution at a particular site.
